Jon White: Why I Joined Zeren

I’ve recently joined the team at Zeren and while no career move should be taken lightly, this was one of the easier decisions I have had to make!  Initially my career in recruitment began during the financial crisis and was focused on financial services and technology which was obviously a tough market in which to begin a recruitment career! However, three years in that environment acted as a healthy baptism of fire and was a great way to really decide whether the recruitment sector was for me.

I decided it was and subsequently joined a boutique recruitment firm focused on the Management Consulting space and it was here that I really began to enjoy the industry. With an initial focus on the PE and VC world my remit quickly grew and over six years on I was heading up the Executive team there.

My time in recruitment to date has expanded to cover a wider and wider range of skill sets, sectors and seniorities and this has developed my expertise across multiple aspects of the commercial world, thus for me Zeren was a natural next step on this journey. Being able to join a fast growing search firm and properly partner with a wide range of exciting clients and candidates is a fantastic prospect.

Zeren is also focussed on what I believe to be one of the most exciting areas in the recruitment world, namely finding Managers, Directors and Leaders that can make a truly impressive impact and drive business performance. This level of candidate across the spectrum of Series A to post IPO/Corporate, is where the really interesting decisions are made, and the key talent choices can make the difference in any given companies continued success.
