My early career took place in a boutique executive search firm and I relished the opportunity to understand a variety of business sectors and functional disciplines on a global scale. Helping to introduce a client to the talent which would solve their business challenge, be it leadership or a hard-to-find capability which would provide my client with a competitive edge, was all the motivation I needed to fall in love with the search industry.
I felt it was important for me to gain in-house experience, so I could better partner with clients in the longer term. I joined an in-house exec search team who were scaling internationally with a consumer tech product and thoroughly enjoyed. As a resource-lite internal team, quality of research was paramount for return on effort so we could engage the business with high quality talent.
Joining a consumer tech business at the start of an aggressive growth mission was next and here I built a deep appreciation of VC/PE backed environment and the “hyper-growth” mentality and subsequently I built a specialism in recruiting Marketing and commercial disciplines required to scale business operations.
Here at Zeren, I get to combine all three aspects of my career to date. 1. Partnering with a variety of clients in various business sectors, looking for their next key hire to take their business to where they want it to be. 2. Working with hyper-growth consumer tech businesses to engage with high quality talent and 3. Working within the VC/PE backed client sector where key hires make a huge impact.
As a business, Zeren operates with laser focus and are highly targeted with our efforts to introduce the talent our clients are looking for. Taking the time to truly partner with our clients is important to me from my own in-house background and I am pleased to say it reaps rewards as we are able to better position our clients in the market, ensure the role fit for the candidate and speeds up time of introduction.
